About the Department

Midnapore College introduced Biology in intermediate stage early 1948. With the introduction of 3-Year Degree Course in 1960 Biology separated as Botany, Zoology and Physiology. For a long time Botany and Zoology worked together in the same area. Its independent existence started with the affiliation of Honours course in 1968. The morning shift of the Department was also introduced in the same year. Our students are placed in various academic and research institutions of high reputation as well as in different administrative and industrial sectors, both in India and abroad.
