The year of establishment of the department is 2005. This department is trying its level best to give its 100% to the students as well as this College. Honours and General courses are taught. The College is under Vidyasagar University. It is now one of the biggest sponsored Colleges outside Kolkata. Dr. Sujit Kumar De is the Co-Ordinator of the department. Moumita Roy is the Head of The Department. Piyali Kundu, Swarnil Ray, Prakash Kar, Asim Datta and Arun Chowdhury  are the other guest faculty members of this department.
